Rogue Xplorers 3 Days in McCall Idaho

IDAHO TRAVEL GUIDE: 3 DAYS TO DO EVERYTHING

How to spend 3 days in McCall & Boise

Kid-friendly activities throughout McCall + Boise

DAY ONE:
Get to Boise and start your trip in McCall – you may never want to leave. From Boise, McCall is a little over 2 hours to drive.

Can I just say how much Idaho blew us away?! McCall is absolutely unreal. The most amazing resort town where you feel like you’re living in a perfect family film. We kept noticing how happy & friendly everyone WAS in McCall… because look at this place!

We stayed at the Alpine Village Suites which was incredible! Perfectly situated downtown with just a short walk to Lake Payette and ALL the fantastic restaurants.

We started our day off with a Payette Lake Cruise with McCall Lake Cruises. The scenery & weather couldn’t have been more perfect! The kids were so excited to be on the boat – especially one that had food and drinks

Can you even get over this face?! Pure happiness being captain of the ship!

…and we are officially looking for homes in McCall, Idaho.

ok, let’s talk about downtown. Picture perfect, beach access, loaner beach toys for kids, parks, amazing restaurants, and candy shops.

we spent the rest of the day exploring the shops and playing down at the water. The kids never wanted to leave – and we literally did not walk back to our suite until after sunset. It was dreamy. A perfect 1st day of our Idaho vacation

When you see a burger place with lines out the door at all times of the day… you know it must be good! We tried out My Father’s Place and loved it! The atmosphere was just as great as the food, and we would highly recommend it for families!

A trip to McCall is NOT complete without a visit to Ice-Cream Alley!

This is ONE SCOOP. ONE! split into two different flavors. Amazing

A huge thank you to Southwest Idaho Travel Association for this amazing vacation! #sponsored

DAY 2
BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN & HORSEBACK RIDING WITH YAHOO CORRALS

We woke up early and headed up to Brundage Mountain to ride the chairlift and hike around the mountain. It is a beautiful ski resort during the winter months, but we loved it during the summer! They have food, a gift shop, a playground, ponds, mountain biking, badminton, and so many fun activities! We can’t wait to come back when the kids are a little older and bike down the mountain.

There were so many beautiful wildflowers throughout the trail, and tons of butterflies to keep the kids entertained At the top of the mountain, you have a beautiful view of Payette Lake.

After Brundage Mountain, we drove back into town and relaxed by the water for a little bit before heading out to Yahoo Corrals for horseback riding. Violet and I were able to have a little mommy/daughter date, and it was so special! It was her very first time riding a horse – and she did awesome! It was the perfect kid-friendly activity and we loved exploring the trails of McCall.

We even got to see some amazing views of Payette Lake!

In the meantime, Fitz, Harper, and Tanner got to hang out with llamas and baby kittens

After the ride, we got to have an amazing BBQ with Yahoo Corrals!

including cookie s’mores. I think Fitz ate a dozen marshmallows!

This was definitely a day to remember! We have made so many special memories together as a family. McCall will forever be one of our most favorite places on the planet. A huge thank you to Southwest Idaho Travel Association for sending us to McCall and planning all of our activities. It is truly a family-friendly destination!

DAY 3
White Water Rafting & Downtown Boise

We woke up early, left beautiful McCall, and headed straight for Whitewater rafting with Cascade Raft & Kayak. Tanner and the girls had an absolute blast on the river!

Fitz was just a tad too young for the rafts, but Cascade Raft & Kayak has the most beautiful spot on the river with a store, cafe, & picnic benches. We were just fine relaxing by the river for a couple hours!

I love all the photos Cascade Raft & Kayak took, and also some fun shots from our gopro inside the raft.

The girls had so much fun! I was a little worried that they would fly out of the raft… but their guide was awesome and kept things fairly calm for the young ones They even got to jump into the river and cool off!

The rafting trip ends right at the Picnic Area where Fitz and I were waiting, and we celebrated with a fantastic BBQ!

We drove into Boise for our last day in Idaho and checked into The Riverside Hotel. Guys, this place is unreal! The lobby was incredible (recently renovated), and seriously THE MOST AMAZING breakfast buffet of all time! Head to my instagram for all the photos and stories from our Idaho adventure.

This was our balcony off our suite at The Riverside. There was music, restaurants, bikers, and an amazing pool which we checked out first thing!

We walked the green belt right downtown. Gosh, Boise really is an amazing city! You can raft, SUP, kayak RIGHT IN THE CITY.

We really LOVE exploring cities! We do so much hiking and outdoor exploring these days, that it’s really nice to get into the city and eat great food, check out museums and zoos, we love it all!

There were so many amazing choices for lunch and dinner! Here are all the recommendations we got through social media:

Flatbread
Fork
Juniper
Boise Fry Co.
Westside Drive-In
Goldy’s (for breakfast)

We were so sad to have to leave Idaho, but now that we have experienced it… we will for sure be coming back!

A HUUUUGE thank you to Southwest Idaho Travel Association for sponsoring this trip!
