A Weekend at Crater Lake With Travel Oregon
In May, we had the opportunity to takeover Travel Oregon’s instagram and show off the beauty of Southern Oregon. We went on a weekend adventure that included a stay at Running Y Ranch, Crater Lake Ziplines, and a visit to our wonderful National Park – Crater Lake.
Running Y Ranch Resort is a top choice among adventure outdoor resorts near Klamath Falls. We stayed in a beautiful town home with amazing views, and enjoyed the resort amenities.
We spent the first day at Crater Lake Zipline and Lake of The Woods. Crater Lake Zipline is PERFECT for families with all different ages. Ages 5 and up can enjoy zipping through the trees and having an incredible time.
Sasquatch Hollow Kid’s Zipline Adventure was amazing. Designed for ages 5-12, this course has 4 ziplines, rolling rapids bridge, sasquatch crossing, and an awesome spider web.
The 9 zipline canopy tour is for age 10+. You get to walk on 2 skybridges, rappel twice, and conquer the course together with your family or friends. It truly was an incredible sight and so much fun!
Crater Lake Zipline is now offering “Skyak” which is Zipline + kayak. They have teamed up with ROE – Real Oregon Experience for your paddling fun. Included paddle gear and lunch! Check out their site HERE for other zipline + kayaking options as well.
Lake of the Woods is one of our all time favorite lakes in Southern Oregon. It truly is a gem. We love the easy access to the resort if you get hungry out on the water, and you can park so close to the water for easy unloading/loading.
Our last day we headed up to Crater Lake National Park.
We were shocked to still see snow in May! In the past we have hiked down to the water to take the ultimate polar plunge :

Regardless of the snow, we always have a fantastic time at Crater Lake! Crater Lake offers many winter activities such as Ranger led snowshoe walks, cross country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowmobiling and more! The lodge is a great place to grab sandwiches, salads, snacks, and of course souvenirs. Don’t forget to check out the Junior Ranger Program if you have kids! It is such a fun way for them to explore the park and receive a badge at the end of your visit.
We had such a great time showing off Southern Oregon to Travel Oregon’s social media followers over the weekend. We can’t wait to head back to Crater Lake as it warms up and explore more of the surrounding trails and beautiful landmarks.
