Sanctuary One Farm Tour
SANCTUARY ONE
A couple weeks ago, Sanctuary One held their very first Free Family Day at Double Oak Farm. I had been wanting to take my kids here ever since I stumbled upon one of their local ads, and was thrilled to see that they were hosting a free family day. A perfect chance to see what Sanctuary One was all about! I was immediately intrigued with their entire facility and organization.
The drive through Jacksonville, and along Upper Applegate Road is an incredibly beautiful drive. It took us about 45 minutes from Medford to arrive at Double Oak Farm.
We started off on our tour through the farm.
My kids were in heaven being able to get close to the rescued dogs, cats, and rabbits.
Sanctuary One provides a safe, loving home to rescued farm animals and pets. It’s all part of a practice called care farming. Care farms, like Sanctuary One, demonstrate how farming for health can be an affordable, natural and effective means of healing people.
The end of the tour leaves us on their open range area where you can pet and visit with the animals on the farm.
We had a great experience at Sanctuary One, and can’t wait to return again! They offer tours Spring, Summer, & Fall. They offer field trips, volunteering, and Internships.
We could have stayed all day visiting with the animals. My kids had a blast, and enjoyed every second at Sanctuary One.
During their Family Day, they also offered coffee, cider, kids crafts, and lots of yummy treats. They had live music and a seating area to relax and visit.
My kids loved their pumpkin launcher!
Sanctuary One at Double Oak Farm is definitely a must-see in Southern Oregon! Kid-Friendly, family-friendly… everything Medfordmom is about.
